PebbleTech Swimming Pool Surface

The pebble's used in all PebbleTech swimming pool finishes come from New Zealand. The stones come from river, glacial, and beach deposits where nature has done the majority of the tumbling that smooth and polish stones, perfect swimming pool lining stones, into a product which provides a naturally tactile and beautiful looking swimming pool surface.

We at Pebbletech use two sizes of pebble with our pool lining system which give two distinct finishes, 2-3mm grade, which gives a bold natural finish and beautifully complements natural rock work, and 1-2mm grade, which gives a classic look. This can be polished, producing a smooth texture while remaining non-slip.

Both grades are available in over 12 colours and can be customised to the clients pool design.

Below are some examples of different colours made by varying compositions of pebble.

Sandy Beach 1-2mm

Midnight 2-3mm

Black Ice 1-2mm

Caribbean Blue 1-2mm

Sandy Beach 2-3mm

Paradise Gold 2-3mm

The actual water colour is produced by the refraction of light as it passes through water reflecting from the pebble surface. As a result the shades deepen with the pool’s depth to give the most natural look possible.

The water colours shown are an aproximation only.

The Pebble tech swimming pool finishing Process

The Swimming pool lining process involves a highly skilled team working together to ensure a uniform and homogenous surface thoughout the pool.
The PebbleTech polished stone and cement mixture is applied either pnumatically or manually to the interior surfaces of the pool.

Using a 'tried and tested', totally unique to Pebble Tech method, and using specialised equipment, the surface of the pool is then pressure washed to expose the top layer of pebble required for any specified grade of stone finish.

Beautifully organic pebble swimming pool finish

A truly beautiful finish to any pool - naturally.

PebbleTech interiors have many advantages over any other form of pool interior.

PebbleTech pools can be built in any shape or style without complication caused by tilting or problems associated with other finishes.

PebbleTech interiors will never need re-grouting and there is never a possibility of tiles coming loose.

There is also no danger of delamination or osmosis associated with fibreglass pools, and none of the routine maintenance required for a painted finish.

The History of PebbleTech pool Linings

Over 25 years ago a system was developed in Australia which enabled natural pebble, bonded with white cement and additives, to be used as an interior pool lining.

It was primarily developed as a refurbishment for pools which had problems but soon became the industry standard for producing an attractive, slip resistant and very durable surface finish which could be applied to any shape or size of concrete swimming pool.

In 1987 Pebble Technology Inc. took this process a stage further in the United States and improved the materials and system to ensure the very best quality of work was maintained. Pebble Technology work only through a network of licenced operators in order to monitor and control the standard of application as well as materials.

In the U.S. around 30,000 swimming pools each year are now finished in Pebble Technology products and the systems, experience and materials taht have made this possible are now available to the New Zealand pool industry.

Satisfied Customer endorsements

Brendon has been fantastic to deal with, and that is no exaggeration.

While positive and accomodating regarding our decision to line the pool with Quartzone, Brendon did a great job informing and convincing us to look at Pebble.

I watched Brendan applying the pebble and was extremely impressed with the speed and skill with which he did the job.

We were so happy with Brendon's attitude and profesional nature that when he suggested he could help with our landscaping as well, we jumped at the chance.

Needless to say he did a brilliant job which has been commented on, many, many times.

We fully recomend Brendon's PebbleTech Design to anyone without any hesitation.

Yours sincerely,
David and Megan.
